No, I spoke too soon. That's another one I need. Also found that there is a Penta Asahiflex H2 compared to my plain Asahiflex H2 so I'm back to needing two more to complete the set.

There was even a Asahi Penta sold recently. it was a Asahi S with the Asahi Penta top. Never seen one before, nor have I ever seen it discussed. I've heard of the Asahi Penta K. You can tell by the speed dial.

Photos from eBay.

New lens to my collection

This week I recived a lens from a fellow member here on pf.

It is the only wide angle lens available to the m37 mount back in the days, the Fujitar 35mm f2.5.

These were made by Fujita Kogaku Kikai and you can find them branded Tower as well as Fujitar. Possibly the first retrofocus lens in the world. It is found in various mounts like m37, m42, m39 Exacta. The lens will have engraving on the rear stating which mount it is for. Mine says it is for Asahiflex IIA IIB.

I am so glad it has arrived in one piece, and fills a gap in your collection! I can't think of a better home for that lens. EDIT: And the bellowscope too!

Flash

The Asahiflex flash has been on my wish list for a long time. I found one in Hungary, of all places, and it arrived today, and I woud say it looks really nice.

The mounting bracket is missing, does anyone have one and can share the measurements and some detailed images of it please? maybe I can find it or have one made.

Is it possible to source the bulbes for these somewhere?

Thanks.

Not sure if I am allowed to promote a sale but I have posted my IIa and IIb parts body with case, 58 mm lens and lens hood in the marketplace.

Today this beauty of a camera arrived. I bought it on eBay and shipped via Eric H for some TLC and CLA.

As always Eric deliver nice work, and everything as agreed. We are lucky to have such a skilled expert that can take care of our cameras.

This is the first Tower-branded Asahiflex in my collection. It is based on the Asahiflex IIB (model I) that was made between Nov 1954 and Feb 1955. About 11 000 Asahiflex IIB were made in this short production run.
The Tower 23 was sold with Takumar f3.5 50mm. The same camera was branded Tower 23 if had the Takumar f2.4 58mm lens.
