Z1p is capable of 4fps which is quite respectable. And my z-1 is still going strong and my k50 had the aperture lever failure so I'm not sure your results (or mine) are typical.

I'm a big fan of the MZ-5n and MZ-3 and they are relatively cheap options. There is an issue with the pop up flash breaking, but otherwise no better or worse than other plastic bodied electronic cameras.
