Looks like a NOS fitted "eveready" case for a Spotmatic motor drive camera:

First one I've ever seen. Might fit the rare KX and KM motor drive bodies as well.

The Spotties and K's were about the same size - if there are any fitting issues, it might be around the hotshoe or with subtle differences in the distance between the top and bottom plates. (This is what dissuaded me for some time from buying an S1a or similar pre-Spotmatic - the overall dimensions as listed were little different from the Spotmatic, but when I finally bought and held one, the top-bottom plate distance was just sufficiently smaller that it sits more comfortably in my hand.)

Yep that sounds like it, don't see them every day and never NOS!

Pentax made lot of odd cases over the years, including ones for the standard/prime lenses that you almost never see for sale.
