Is that even a thing ?

Optium MC-K1000 pentax clone 35mm SLR camera JAPAN LENS 35-105 80-200 1.7-50 mm

Seems a tad optimistic to me

You do get some flashcubes though.

Pentax K 1975-1997 - www.pentax-slr.com

They apparently sold well in China...also under some other brands Mingka, Luxor, Maginon, & Spender...

Interesting that they added a self-timer.

That is a very optimistic seller. A real K1000 can be had for a whole lot less. He does sweeten the deal with a bunch of lenses but I remain unconvinced. It may well be rare but so what?

Instead of selling off the worn-out dies and molds Pentax should have destroyed them.

Yes, I have one of those. Though instead of "Optium" on the prism, my MC K1000 has "Mingca".

I wonder which is more applicable here, "one man's trash is another man's treasure" or "a sucker is born every minute" . . .

Not nearly so much as this eBay seller trying to pass a Presenta K1000 off as a "Black Pentax K1000 Prototype" at $850

PENTAX K1000 K-1000 PK prototype black Prototyp schwarz /17 | eBay

That is likely a Presenta K1000, Luxon Super 1000, Mingca MC-K1000, or Alstar K1000 with it's silkscreened name & model number polished off.
I posted images of three of the K1000 Clones I have in this thread, post #11.

BTW...you might be interested in the brown K1000 "sticker" SE I saw in a shop yesterday. I did not notice if it were hump or no hump.

Hey,

I think this will add to the confusion. But I bought a german instruction manual for a all-black camera that looks like a K1000 with a timer. What on earth?
