Pentax SB2 for you collectors

Not mine but I thought that I would post this for any of you out there who are collectors. There is a pretty rare M42 body in nice working condition that just popped up on ebay. It's an SB2, a version of the S3 I think, that was, according to one source, only sold on Japanese military bases. You may never see one of these for sale again. If I had the cash, it would be in my collection.

Just type Pentax SB2 into the search bar on ebay and it's the only thing that will show up.

Uh, I've been following that camera for months, the seller startet out a bit steep, I tried to give him an offer, but all he said was Sorry. Not a single word more. Hehe. An sb2 was sold last week to a fellow forum member for 140$ so this going for 215 is high.

Well hope the buyer is happy

I'll keep looking.

That one looks really clean! Good luck with your "new" SB2. Wow. Aussies are gathering or hoarding all the SB2 out there.

It would seem so. Question to all interested. How many are there of this camera? I cannot find any information on production numbers. It is not even mentioned in the Pentax M42 bible

"This very rare SB2 was, as its elder cousin SB, sold only in japanese military camps. As the SB was a S2/S1 special version, the SB2 was a S3 version with shutter time to 1/1000 and prepared for the Light Meter."
