Advance lever stuck? KX

Hi all!

I bought my new camera yesterday and it was working fabulously! Until I got home and I accidentally opened the back panel of the camera to show off my new beauty.. The advance lever proceeded to quit moving (advancing). I've opened the bottom and checked the film transport (See: "Fix Old Cameras: Pentax K-1000 Jammed Film Transport" by Fix Old Cameras on YT) but the lever was in the correct position. I've since removed the film and come to you lovely people for help.

Please help! I'm brand new to manual/older cameras and I was so very excited to begin shooting with a 35mm..

The manual for the KX is at : http://www.cameramanuals.org/pentax_pdf/pentax_kx.pdf

So he's asking if you've cocked the shutter, and have the shutter lock on. ( The parts are labeled on page 1. )

If so, unlock the shutter by rotating the little tab, and fire the shutter.

The shutter lock is not on. Earlier I removed the lens and the camera fired after I touched the curtain ever so slightly and hit capture- voila.

But now this solution will not work. The mirror is stuck in the 'up' position and the lever will not move as well.

Remove base plate again and check,
If it has a warrenty you may need to send it back.
The CLA you will see mentioned is just new oil/grease to replace the old oil/grease that is now wax.

The shutter curtain is silk fabric impregnated with black rubber treat it carefully!

That sounds familiar. How similar are the K-series bodies to the Spotmatics? If it is the same problem I had with my SPII, half a drop of thin oil at the right place might be enough. See the following videos:
