ME Super shutter button dead

Hi,
The shutter button on my beloved ME Super stopped working this weekend. The camera cocks and fires just fine with the timer but the shutter button does nothing. I took the bottom plate off and some very small black plastic pieces came out. So, I suspect something plastic broke. Does anyone know how the button triggers a firing or what plastic piece might have broken?

Lubed the mirror latch lever and it started working.

Tragic! Not knowing what I'm talking about I recommend taking it completely apart and seeing how it ticks, then getting a new one when you can't figure out what pieces go where! Or else there may be more helpful advice out there . . .

I just ordered a $10 broken unit for this purpose. The one I have is in beautiful condition and I don't want to monkey with it until I know what's what.
