Someone just posted an M-40mm pancake on the marketplace. Nice looking and for a good price!

$75 is a pretty good price. I was just getting ready to add not to pay too much. You'll see a lot of them for buy it now prices FAR higher than they should be on eBay. I would never pay the $100+ that some folks seem to think this lens is worth. I think I waited it out and got my perfect copy for about $60 but I wouldn't hesitate on that $75 price if I didn't already have one.

The DA 40XS, while small, is a APS-C lens with a smaller image circle then the full-frame 35mm film plane. It also has no aperture setting ring. The Pentax-M 40/2.8 is the way to go.
The DA40 limited and the DA40XS both cover 35mm format just fine. I use the DA40XS on my MZ-7 and ZX-L film bodies regularly, along with the DA 35/2.4 (which is also a great lens on film).
