Replacing Pentax MX focusing screen for another's model

Hello everyone, my first thread here.
I'm a novice with full manual cameras so I started with a Pentax MX, the thing is the focusing screen of this camera has a lot of marks and a replacement is pretty difficult to find in my country, my question is, if I can replace it with another's model like Pentax ME.

Focusing screens made for the Pentax LX fit the MX perfectly. As a bonus they are ever-so-slightly brighter.
Pentax repair specialist Eric Hendrickson tells me the MX exposure meter needs no recalibration when using them.

I don't know if the ME or ME Super screens will fit the MX since they are not user removable. I suppose if you do have one, you can quickly pop the one out of the MX to match them up if it will fit before you actually try to install it.

The screen from the Super A/Super Program is removable. I don't know if the one for the Program Plus is though. I've never checked to see if the Super A screen will fit the MX though. Not sure where my jeweler's screwdrivers are at the moment or I'd give it a try and let you know.

Not user changeable and requires disassembly to get to it as far as I can see.

Two screws and it drops right out. It literally takes about as much time to replace as a roll of film.

Anyway, only MX and LX focusing screens will fit the MX so pulling screens from another camera is an interesting project but will not help.

I've put a P30 screen in an ME-F - also 2 screws - before now so it depends on what you can get hold of really. I don't have an MX any more (didn't like it, gave it away to a friend's son who was learning) so don't know if it would have taken a P30 screen, but it's not hard to try it out. Broken P30's can be had for next-to-nothing on eBay, but you will probably have to destroy it to get the screen out.
