Time for an update: both flashes showed up and I also decided to keep the ME, and got another one for my Dad. Both really are in excellent to mint shape, though I will send them off to Eric to be looked at to be sure. Will pick up one of the camera recommendations for full manual control. I am going to keep the bounce flash, thanks again to ctrout sending me a AF280T. Now I need to learn how to use it.

I haven't tested the flash units yet, as I sent off the cameras to Eric a couple of weeks ago.

Then my choice for a full manual control camera showed up recently.

Well, you sure dove in with both feet now didn't you! Nice choice. That thing's a beast.

Both feet and the anchor also

It is a massive camera along with that fat 55mm f3.5 lens out front right now.

I can still have fun with the ME for quick knock around fun, and then see if I can get some good images with the 6x7 as my skills improve.

I have no doubt that your 67 will give you the tools to put together some great images.

I began putting together a basic 67 rig a couple years ago. I love that huge camera. I decided that I needed the extra expanse of the 45mm as opposed to the 55mm. Yeah, I had to pay a premium for that 45mm, but I'm glad I did. It's like the difference between a 28mm and a 24mm in 35mm format. That extra 4 degrees of width makes a profound difference in the images, I've found. And I suspect the same is true with the 45mm and 55mm on the 67.

Here are a couple of shots from a recent airshow, taken with the 45mm. Pentax 67 w/AE Finder, 45mm @ f/8?, Tri-X developed in D76. Scanned with an Epson 4990 at 2400 ppi.

Great depth of field:

cooltouch, thanks for sharing those. The second one I like as the shadow of the plane looks somewhat like an SR-71 Blackbird

Well, got the two ME's back from Eric, had to send them back as the viewfinders had too much debris in them, Eric knocked them out pronto, sent back quickly, and they look great now.

Sent one ME to my Dad, along with the AF200sa flash. I kept the donated AF280Ts flash from ctrout, and picked up a Winder ME II to test on some sports shooting. 2 fps now.... Looking forward to seeing what the old ME can do!
