Pentax K1000 mirror issue

I have a problem where the mirror on my Pentax K1000 gets stuck in the up position. I already replace the mirror dampner and it is still doing it. Not sure how to fix this issue. Let me know how.

The most likely cause is the shutter tension is weak, and needs adjusting - or is running slow because it needs cleaning and lubrication.
The second curtain is what trips the mirror down latch. If it’s not snapping shut with enough force, the mirror doesn’t return.
