Camera repair service in Australia

Does anyone know a good camera repair service for a Pentax Super A in Australia?

Everything is working but I would like to get the seals replaced and a full CLA.

I was thinking about a local shop rather than sending to the official distributor as they seem to take ages and are quite expensive to use.

Thank you!

Theo

Try Shutter-Box 1163 Toorak Rd, Camberwell VIC 3124 I think they would do a good job.

Hi,
f16 at Margate, a suburb of Brisbane would be worth a try. His contact details are in the camera repair listing on this site or just Google f16 Camera Repair.
Regards.

Do you have any more info on this shop (i.e. what they repair, or a web site)? If so I can add it here:

Camera Clinic in Collingwood has done a good job for me in the past, mainly on my Minolta cameras but also my K1000:

Thanks for all the replies. That is very helpful! It is getting harder and harder to find those old school camera repair shops.

If you're in Sydney try Sydney Camera Repairs. I've had them work on an MX, a Leica M2 and an Olympus 35RD. Their communication is a bit hit and miss but their work has been very good and they're fairly affordable.

Sydney Camera Repairs - Photographic Equipment Specialists

Camera Electronic in Perth has also done some fairly serious work on my M2, although I don't know if they work on Pentax (I assume they would)...

Repairs: DSLR, Medium Format, Video, Rangefinders, Lenses, Lighting | Camera Electronic

Seriously though, if it's a camera you're fond of and plan on keeping, I'd consider sending it over to Eric Hendrickson. There isn't a better Pentax tech going and his prices are good. I recently had him do a full CLA on a black-paint MX and it feels like a brand new camera...

Thanks Nick. Yes, Eric has a good reputation and his prices are good. I will think about that.

I had a K1000 and a Ricoh GR Digital 3 repaired at Whilton in the Sydney CBD a few years ago at different times.
The fellas in there know what they're doing and the turn-around was actually fairly quick.

I should add, they can be gruff (like some of the best old camera techs are - which also applies to car mechanics) and due to their location they can get busy, but my GRDIII (the far more complicated repair of the two) worked flawlessly until I sold it 3 years later. Point being, don't go in there expecting to be given a coffee and listen to a "customer oriented" pleasant speaking voice. They are short and to the point.
