NCD: Super Program with 50mm 1.4

Stopped by my local flea market today and picked up a Super Program with a mint condition Pentax-A 50mm 1.4. The camera is not working. I'm hoping it just needs a new battery. But the lens is in amazing shape. There was a UV filter protecting the front and it looks dust and fungus free. I got it for $8. Never had one example of either of these before. I've got an M 50 1.4 but never an A.

Well, a Super Program won't work without batteries...It will probably need new light seals anyway.

And a Super Program with an A 50/1.4 for $8? I hate you...

I've read conflicting things about the need for a battery but it is definitely the first thing I will try.

The lens was a big surprise, especially since the glass is in such great condition. I figured the lens was worth the money even if the camera is broken.

.
A direct quote from the manual...

QuoteQuote:
Your Super Program doesn't operate without batteries. Use two 1.5V silver or alkaline batteries, or a 3V lithium battery.
If you need the manual you can find it here...

Congratulations You did much better than me. I paid $50 for mine with the same lens that I would rate in good condition. Aperture ring is a little tight otherwise everything works great.
