SF1 error 99

Other than ‘it’s broken’, does anyone know what a blinking 99 on a SF1 (SFX) means.

It’s accompanied by a pretty horrible sound that I would blame entirely on film transport except that it sounds like the broken mirror gear on a newer ZX body.

Any ideas?

I can't remember - been some time since I've seen that. Can you rewind the film?

There's currently nothing in it. It makes the noise when it tries to auto-load nothing when you open and close the back door.

Then it blinks 99 and does nothing.

Normally, if there's no film in it, it makes regular winding noises then stops after a moment.

That does not sound good Eric. Last try: What happens if you remove the lens, re-mount a lens and turn it on?
