Good thing Instax is actually pretty good, I quite like it when I can get it in Wide.

Oh, and uh, Ektachrome. Really looking forward to using my next two rolls once I can get my project rolling. And 120 will be exciting, too, should it happen. I imagine it'd sell pretty well, considering that the other options for medium format slide film just went up in price by a lot.
Speaking of prices, do you think that makes Kodak Colorplus cheaper than Fujifilm C200?

I think the reason that they are selling it is that Kodak Alaris is run by a pension fund that isn't really in the business of business. I've heard in other places that the film division is actually profitable to a certain extent. Maybe the employees will buy it out like they did for Tetenal.

It's exactly the case. They are making money, but not enough to cover the $2.7B deficit. Plus, they are a pension fund and not a business

Yeah, I'm not really all that worried. Kodak's name is pretty valuable, even after all the blunders (Kodacoin?). They just can't be the industrial giant they once were.

Considering that they bothered to do the R&D for Ektachrome's return even with this sale hanging over them tells you a lot.

Thanks for posting. I noticed they used the old E100VS and not E100G.

I find the new E100 is more like the old E100G, than E100VS or E100GX.

Agreed - I had frozen some E100G from the last batch, so thawed a roll and shot it in one camera and new E100 in another. Results were quite similar. In sunlight shooting spring wildflowers the old E100G seemed to have a bit more “snap” or contrast, but both were very nice. With indoor mixed lighting (daylight LEDs, window light, some bright white LEDs) the new E100 handled it better, and portraits looked more natural.
I always preferred the results on Kodachrome II, but the new E100 is very nice.

Well, I finally ordered a couple rolls of the new Ektachrome film.

If I don't use it on my vacation in June I will save it for my annual
leaf-peeping trip to The Berkshires come Columbus Day weekend.
