smc da 40mm f/2.8 limited with pentax slr ?

hi guys, which pentax slr can support smc da 40mm f/2.8 lens for aperture control + autofocus ?

I understand that it is an apsc lens, but the vignette on full frame is slight ?

any help would be greatly appreciated

Any autofocus film SLR should work fine in P mode.

If you want to be able to control the aperture manually, there's the Z-1, MZ-60, and others. Look for cameras with Av in the DA column:

thanks for the help !

sorry I forgot to mention, the 40mm lens does not have aperture ring

so in Av mode, it's only manual focus ?

What does focusing have to do with Av mode?

You'd still get AF as long as the camera supports AF.

And there are select models (those noted in the table above) which let you configure the aperture electronically, just like a DSLR would. In other words, the lens would work without any limitations at all.

You either get a camera that can’t manually set aperture on the body, but supports shutter priority and program mode. This includes most, or maybe all of the AF cameras and also includes MF cameras like the SuperProgram, but in that case you can’t set the aperture directly, instead you set the shutter speed and let the camera pick an aperture, or you put it in program mode and let the camera pick everything.

Or you get a camera that, like modern DSLRs allows you to choose the aperture on the camera body. This is a much smaller list. I believe the Z-1 and Z-1p is on that list, but I don’t know if there are other cameras.

EDIT: By the way, I have used both the DA40 limited and DA70 limited on my SuperProgram without issue. The SuperProgram is a manual focus camera, but it works just fine as in the first scenario above.

This thread shall be dedicated to test shots of a DA lens mounted to a full frame body (e.g., a film camera body). By test shot, I mean shots dedicated to evaluate the performance. Shots of ordinary subjects aren't suitable to this task, normally, and should not be posted. So, these are the rules:

K mount lens dedicated to the APS-C form factor is used.
Image is taken full frame 36mm x 24mm.
Lens hood was removed.
And ideally, no filter is mounted.
The aperture used is specified (note that film cameras don't record EXIF...).
Sample image shows the entire field of view.
Sample image(s) show(s) corner, border and center performance at 10MP-100% (multiple crops, or single not-resized image).
The subject is such that resolution and vignetting at the borders can be compared to the center.
The idea behind this thread is obvious: To compile enough data to assess the spectrum of available lenses for a forthcoming full frame DSLR in K mount.
