When I first chose Pentax, the choice was between a new P50 or a used Super-A. I chose the Super-A but still wondered about the P50 - years later I found one online for very little, I had to buy it. I later bought a P30 and couldn't believe how well built it was compared to then modern AF bodies.

I still remember the P30 magazine adverts: Full page advert with a picture of the camera and standard zoom and strap line something 'Pentax P30n only £149', turning the page over had another full page advert with the same P30n & standard zoom with all the other Pentax K lenses in the background - strap line was "How much you spend on the P30n is entirely up to you".

The P30 is one of the very few manual focus Pentaxs that have a meter lock and has a very sleek top plate thanks to the inset shutter speed dial and rewind crank.

My first Pentax was a P50 2nd hand back in 1990. I almost bought a P30n, but liked the P50 more. The only real difference between the two was the P50 having a choice of TWO program modes!
I bought a Super A in 1997 which I loved. Wonderful film camera and superior to the (newer) P50 in most ways. Still got both of them, even though I've got no intention of using either again.

This slippery slope can only end in a K-1.
Or an MX, then LX... then 645, then 67...
