K2DMD ISO ring repair

Does anyone have experience getting the stupid ISO ring on a K2 or K2DMD repaired? Mine it stuck and can't get past ISO 200. I'm wondering if it's worth the trouble.

I have done this myself on a K2 (not the DMD). It's fairly easy to take it apart, clean and oil. Reassemble is equaly easy given that the disassemble procedure was documented. Afterwards it worked like a charm

This might help: K2 Film Speed Ring Repair - PentaxForums.com

I expect the ISO ring was unchanged between the K2 & the DMD.

I have have had all my four K2/K2DMD cameras ASA rings repaired by Eric during a regular CLA. It's pretty well a prerequisite with those bodies.

Sweet. Good to know it could be DIY repair. The plastic on the lever of my K2DMD has been worn down to a point, so pressing it is a bit painful. Luckily, I have a K2 also and may sacrifice the lever on the K2 to replace the one in the DMD.

The ISO ring was a strange idea - no other Pentax bodies use it. You may have already checked, but make sure the exposure comp. is set to 1x as the ISO won't move if it's set to anything else (apparently - even then it's not convenient).

Good news! I swapped out the ISO ring from a sacrificial K2 into the K2DMD. The ISO ring originally in the K2DMD must have something wrong with it because it's exhibiting the same problems now that it's in the K2. Now I just need to run a test roll and check for light leaks.
