Foam for the Square Clip-on meter

Hello All,

I just purchased one of the square clip-on meters for my H1a.
I'll admit it's more because it looks cool than anything else...
I was torn between it and the round one, but I think this will work...

The seller has said they removed the foam because it was a disgusting mess (no great surprise)

I'd like to replace it so the meter sits better on the camera.

Does anyone have a photo of theirs in good shape from underneath?
And does anyone know what kind of foam it really is (or should be)?

The forum search was not very revealing from my phone this afternoon...

The foam in mine is almost gone. It seems a bit denser and harder than regular foam. Not sure if that could be due to age.

If you have a pick and pluck foam insert on a case, you could use that foam to replace it.

You can buy foam sheets with adhesive backing. Or you can use double sided tape, but leave the covering on one side. I used a piece of foam sheet cut to shape. I have several of these meters.

Here's mine. I don't know how much foam there was in there originally, but as it is it fits snugly on the camera (my S1a) with no movement at all. The slightly worn bit is right where the meter sits on the angle at the top of the pentaprism.

My daughter has a ton of stick-on craft foam, so Iíll try that first.

It may be the first ever meter with orange foam

Aki Asahi offers sheets of self-adhesive foam for light seals. I've purchased their seals and definitely can recommend them.

I'd try adhesive foam strips for stove tops.
Inexpensive and easy to find.
