I have one of those long bulb releases in my box'o'bits.

Going through my old equipment bag, found one of the old timers (badum..pas)
Yashica brand, almost unused in the box; with the Nikon adapter on.
It even has a price attached to it in the box ($2.95)

Because the Pentax 645 didn't have a self timer mode, I use one of these mechanical widgets on the 645. If the 645 wasn't loud enough, the spring winding down on these is smile-worthy before the shot.
