Two-part case for P30T

I’m looking for a 2-part case for my P30T, the sort where bottom part stays on the camera all the time, fixed to the tripod mounting thread. There are LOADS of ‘genuine’ P30 cases on eBay. So my question is: are the P30 and P30T the same size and have same position of tripod mount?

Please correct my nomenclature as necessary

I thought the only differences between the P30 and P30T were cosmetic (and maybe something like a PC socket or something that wouldn’t change the case).

And I’m pretty sure the P3/P3n is the same way...

My P30 can't use a cable release (or at least I couldn't find a connection) but as far as I know the P30T can, apart from that I can't think of a namable difference

The P30/P3 only had program and manual modes, the P30n & P30T also had Av and perhaps the cable release socket about 4 o'clock on the lens mount. I'm pretty sure the bodies are the same shape & size.

That's what I was thinking of, the cable release socket... I knew it was small and chrome...
But I wasn't standing next to the "nEd" (P3n) when I posted earlier...

And, even more embarrassingly, I even had a photo in my album here... (though you can't see the release)

It doesn't have the sublime mechanical feel of my older cameras, but it takes some nice photos...

Ok thanks all, I’d noticed from pics that the grips looked slightly different across the P3* models, so wondered if some were fatter/deeper than others. But I’ll go ahead and order a P30 case and report back. Cheers

Took delivery today. The ‘P30’ case, marked P-S (presumably P-series, short version?) fits the P30T ok.
And I needn’t have worried about the screw attachment because it doesn’t have a hole in the base for one.

It’s ok for a 50mm M lens, or maybe a very short zoom.

Some of those cases originally had options for longer front parts for big zooms... but the base would be the same...

Ah, yes I’m watching one on eBay. It has P-L on the base. Presumably “Long”.

Yep for longer lenses. These cases are a vinyl finish and tend to crack, so hopefully you can get one in good shape.

Phil.
