Are there any 70/80’s Pentax film bodies with Shutter Priority?

Lazy question in subject. I’ve had a search of the Google, and look at reviews/specs here and come up short.
Cheers!

SFX, SFXn (SF-1 and SF-1n in some markets), MZ-5 and MZ-50 are some I can think of, offhand.

Lots from the Super A onward. Have another look in the manual focus film SLR reviews section.

What are you looking for?

There is only one non-AF camera with shutter priority from pentax, which is the super program/super A, which was released in the mid 80's.

Most, but not all, of the following film based autofocus cameras have shutter priority and have been produced from the end of the 80's (SF-series) to beginning of the 00's (MZ/ZX-series and ist*).

There was only one manufacturer at all, who sold mainly shutter priority cameras in that time. This was Canon with the AE-1. Most other manufacturers introduced aperture priority as the first auto-mode. The second step were cameras with auto and program mode, and the top cameras then often had aperture priority as well as shutter priority beside the program mode. The Pentax from this time was the above mentioned super program/program A. That was the time, when Pentax began to lack behind the other manurfacutrers in terms of technology. Until the SFX there was no up to date flagship camera. The super A had very good features including TTL-flash, but was sold and promoted as an upper middle class camera, while the LX still was Pentax's flagship camera.

Sorry, got a bit carried away. That was the time when I followed the market with big interest, but had no money to buy any of the shiny new things.

If I remember right, some of the P-Series (P3, P5, P30) would not do shutter priority, but I don’t remember which...

Nor the P3N/P30N/P30T, which have Av mode (that the earlier P3/P30 don't) and Program mode which adjusts both shutter and aperture (as do all P series cameras), but no Tv mode.

Assuming the db here is correct — and no immediate reason to assume it isn't — then the only 35mm manual focus film SLRs with Tv mode were the Super Program/Super A and the MZ-M/ZX-M.

For autofocus, every body released supported Tv mode or something close to it except the Z-10/PZ-10. (And the ME-F, but is that truly an autofocus body?) The Z-5 & Z-5p don't technically offer an explicit Tv mode, but they do offer Hyper-Program mode.

And, just for completeness' sake: every 645 camera supported Tv mode, and none of the 67s did.

What about the Chinon's after the CE-5? They had a lot of really advanced cameras including the ability to control the aperture of K and M lenses in-body.

The ability to use shutter priority was introduced with A-series lenses and cameras in 1983.
It is only with lenses and cameras that communicate electronically that shutter priority can be used.

So even if the Pentax camera has shutter priority, it will not work if using K- or M-series lenses.
