Hello all

I hope everyone had a great Christmas.

I've published the results of the poll to find the favourite Pentax film camera - see below:

Greatest Pentax film camera

I'll be choosing three winners from the list of people who took part and then deleting the email list.

Nice list of fine cameras. Surprised but not surprised to see the MX at #1. The MX has long been my favorite film camera but
I wouldn't have guessed it would take top marks in the poll.

BTW, in the LX you state "the LX was Pentax’s high-end rival to the likes of the Canon A-1, Nikon F3 or Olympus OM-4." You should change Canon A-1 to Canon New F-1 as that the Nikon F3 and LX were the 3 kings.

Interesting set of results. Given that the LX came in at Number 2, whereas the other earlier high-end bodies like the ESII and the K2DMD didn’t rank in the top twenty, I do wonder how many votes were based on personal experience, and how many on others’ opinions. Granted, it’s a popularity poll, so all views count, but I’d still like to know.

The shutter dial is so stiff it's nearly inoperable as well!

I was fully prepared to get to the end of the results and find the K1000. Honestly seeing the MX down there was surprising to me as well.
The LX is my "favorite", but I'd give it away before I let go of my MX (the latter being the only camera I have two, or actually now three, of)...
... whatever that might mean.

I'm surprised that the K1000 got as high as it did, given that there are so many models that are better but with the same handling. Also the ME Super, given that the vast majority of them no longer work due to poor eighties electronics or sub-standard, light-weight build quality.

Good (and surprised) to see the MX at the top. I have three, though one of those has been acting up recently. I had expected to see either the LX, MZ-S or 67II at the top.

Well I put the LX first and the MX second... My third choice, the ESII, didn't make the top twenty, but then I always knew it was a bit left field and based on my liking for my copy.

I still have my ESII, as well as the K2DMD that replaced it. Even though the LX is unique in the Pentax pantheon, and interesting in its own right as a design, I’ve never quite warmed to mine the way I had with the other two.
