What could this have been used for? LX..

Dear Forums

I came across this ad on ebay and I cannot recall having seen this before. Special made viewfinder and look at the shutter speed dial.

A quick google search shows that Anthis Nexus makes underwater housings, maybe the is a partial one.

Seems reasonable, it would be hard using a ordinary viewfinder with diving goggles on after all.

In which case it needs the housing. The larger viewfinder and speed dial mod are surely to ensure the camera can be operated when in the waterproof housing?

Here's a photo of the Nexus housing for the Nikon F4. The cap on the shutter speed dial has a post/tab that would connect with the control extension on the housing.

There are many things to check when buying a used Pentax LX.
As an added bonus, this one might have been flooded as well!

Thanks to everyone for really usefull insigth. Would be fun to know how common it was to use a Pentax LX with that setup, but guess that is impossible to find out.
