Hello,

Fellow forum member Edgar brought today a friend's "new" K1000 for me to check. I don't do work for others, but since they blame me for getting them into film I'm guilty as charged!
Did not take pics of it before, but this Hong Kong born friend was quite dirty. All speeds worked but the meter was dead. Took it apart from the bottom and sure enough, the battery cable was loose due to corrosion. It was cleaned and resoldered in place. Meter now works like a champ! Seems accurate as well. Then did a quick beauty spa. Not much disassembly. Only minor. The M50 f1.7 lens is in excellent beautiful shape. A quick wipe was all it needed. Tested hot shoe and flash port. Everything looks good. Now it needs to be tested in the wild with a roll!

The moment of truth has arrive, I have to send my first two film rolls to be developed (fingers crossed). Ismael, you are indeed a "bad" influence. Thanks to you I am rapidly becoming an addict of the beautiful K lenses.🤦🏻🤷🏻 Joking aside, thank you for taking some of your leisure time to fix our cameras and for making them look awesome in the process.
