Auto 110 motor broken battery door solution

All this 110 talk got me interested so I got a couple of rolls of Fukkatsu 110 B&W from FPP site (Film Photography Project) and loaded up my Auto 110.

My solution to the common broken motor battery door is the drill a small hole and use a small screw to keep it closed. Yes, you have to use a screwdriver to change batteries...but at least I don't have to stress every time I change batteries whether this will be the time it breaks.

Thanks! great idea. I hope your Fukkatsu isn't one of the ones that has 100 film with the ISO keyed for 400 on the cartridge (mine is). Lomography has 110 film also.

Actually it's color negative C41... I bought an ISO 400 color and ISO 100 B&W...and just realized I installed the color one. No, they seem to wind just film...I'm on exp 3 and each one was a normal sounding wind.

Great solution! Thanks! Both tabs were gone. Door closes again nicely. According to Wikipedia the length of an AA battery is 49.2 to 50.2 mm. When you carefully tap with a hammer on the top of the battery you can bring the total length to little over 49 mm. That will reduce the stress on the battery door tabs.
