I have to admit I've been lusting after one of these for some time now.

This thread dosn't help!

I just posted a message about two MZ-S cameras on eBay right now. One is a BIN at $540 (or so) but the auction is ending in a few hours. The other ends in about 3 days (in auction format and currently sitting at around $220).

There are a few others as well but their are either from a seller with a 0 fb rating or from Hong Kong... I wouldn't trust these sellers.

Had both MZ-S and MZ-3, kinda like the MZ-3 better (at least easier to use imo) ...

MZ-3's are almost impossible to find! i think it's just a slightly better MZ-5n anyways doesn't benefit from the more rugged build and custom features of the MZ-S and MZ-L

That was from a seller in Ottawa. I was watching that one and....

There is another seller in Vancouver (Canada) on eBay. This seller is offering a 'near-mint' MZ-S with a bunch of extras, selling in auction format with a current high bid of about $316.00.

FYI...

Funny how the used market works.

I just bought a nice MZ-S + BG-10 grip that was listed on Kijiji Toronto. The price was reasonabe, about market value, not too high but not too low. The listing looked like it had been there for a while so I was surprised it was still available.

Naturally I bought it. A friend mailed it to me. I received it this past Sunday. The seller said it had maybe 100 rolls of film put through it, not high mileage at all.

I am consistently amazed that the MZ-S still commands a price of over $600.00. But I guess that is a testament to just how good this camera is!

In fact, I am seeing a trend in eBay final values, it seems that the camera's final value is edging upwards.

I am watching Item number: 200287524586 on eBay. It is currently at around $400.00. The seller is offering a fish eye lens and teleconverter if the final value price exceeds $600.00.

I am familiar with that Russian made lens. I purchased one a few years back and it's pretty darn good with fairly low distortion. If you need/want such a lens, this is a very good MZ-S sale! I bought mine for $349.00.

I have seen a couple of the beauties on sale in the UK, for about 300 GBP..

I bought mine about 4 years ago and only 8 rolls of film had passed through it - I've since put 100 rolls according to the information in the film rebate.

Magnificent camera

Theoretically, no timer is needed with the K20D - it has a built in intervalometer and the connector is completely different. I am not sure if all the functions of the TS-110 are in the K20D intervalometer though?

Either way, I'd have to splice and re-wire the TS-110 to work with a DSLR. I did buy a second TS-110 connector though, and may try wiring it through to the CS-205 stereo style plug. Not sure if it will work, so I am researching. There was a good post on this last October - near the end of the month that I put up on the TS-110. I bought it last year NIB! Here's the thread and the thoughts that went along with the post - it may be useful to others:

Did you manage to make the TS-110 work on your K10 or K20 ?

Was it a similar time unit, which Wim would have used, where he programmed for a 30 minute exposure to start 3 minutes after pressing the release on his remote :

Because I guess, the intervalometer of the K20D, is not built for for Bulb exposure. (please correct me, if I'm wrong)
