Hello. I have an mz.s I use on occasion. With an m42 lens attached, I can't get the body to give me an in.focus indicator lights or beep.. is it suppose to, or no? Thanks. Dw

The lens compatibility table in the manual indicates that focus confirm (FI) is not available with screw mount lenses.

Steve
Is that a function of the lens not properly shorting out a lens contact pin on the body?

I thought that was what was happening with some of the newer cameras... people were shorting out the pins with a piece of aluminum foil and it worked, I think...

That might be the case. It would not hurt to try that work-around.

Id say check the manual for it, it should have more info on it:

...could not find this info in the manual. It's odd that I can use the m42 lenses on my k1 and the focus indicator function is there.

Lens compatibility table on page 137. I believe the same holds for the MZ/ZX series in general.

As for the K-1, it is an undocumented feature.

Thanks all. Thought I'd give a try to shorting the contacts with a thin ss shim cut to size.. I'll be damned if it didn't work.. dw
