Edit: Just to add. . .

You can't correct depth of field at the film "scanning" stage. If it's out of focus on the negative or slide then it's going to be out of focus on the scan. That's a beautiful collection of gear, but for the practical job of DSLR scanning of film originals there are much simpler and cheaper options available that will do the job just as well.
We are most fortunate to have many options indeed! With some patience and luck, there are some really cool stuff out there for a deal you can't pass up . . .

BTW, I don't mean to correct focus after the fact, I meant that you can adjust the angle of the lens relative to the film being copied because of the movements.
Although I understand that there is some AI focus tools that might just correct focus after the fact. Good thing I don't throw away even my badly focused shots . . .

Les, the Ion Slides2PC scanner I had, only gave 2592x1680 resolution
The results were not bad after trial and error on scanning (the longer you leave the slide in the scanner the better)
Negatives were very grainy though

I'm now using a Asahi bellows+slide holder now with a Macro Takumar 50/4
The resolution is much better and the tonal range I can get with a K5IIs is longer and easier to edit
The hard part is to get the 0.67 magnification needed for APS sensors.

I tried to do slide scanning with bellows and the bellows 100mm lens and a K-01.
There was much profanity involved...
The K1 solved much of that, just with the larger sensor.

The easiest way I've found for slides is with the Nikon ES-1, the K1, and the FA 50mm Macro.
That also lets you use a P-TTL flash for extra light, which you can't do with any Pentax bellows I'm aware of.
For negatives, it doesn't really hold them well, so that isn't awesome...

I'm about to try the bellows again for some negatives, once I get a happy workflow with Affinity...

Yes, that is difficult to do with the auto bellows and slide copier out-of-the-box. I can easily do 0.67x with my Bellows K, but it will not mate directly with any Pentax slide copier. That is where a some sort of jig would come in handy.

I bought a Kodak Scanza Digital film scanner about two years ago. It will scan color and B&W film, Slides, negatives and 8mm Film. I wouldn't call it cheap at about $150, but I had a lot of old B&W negs color film and slides that I wanted to make 4X6 prints of for my kids. I found the Scanza easy to use and the scans make pretty nice prints as long is you don't want large ones. The scanning is really fast and you can make some adjustments to the color. I scanned about 500 slides and negs, both color and B&W in about 3 evenings.

Look here: ...and scroll down about 4-5 posts to my post with instructions and photos .... This post was nine years ago with my first APS-C camera (Kr). I've migrated a couple times to a K-3 and tweaked the process a bit (you have to also put extension tubes between the K-3 and bellows) and I'm using a better lens. But overall the process is the same.

FYI- before we were married (and we are well through our 43rd year of marriage) I enlarged a couple of my Ektachrome landscapes to 16X20 Cibachrome prints and gave them as birthday gifts to my girlfriend. Three years ago, the Cibachromes had faded enough I decided to replace them. I went back to my original 35mm slides, digitized them as above with my K-3, brought them into Lightroom for some minor tweaking and cropping to exactly match the original prints. I sent them off to a digital printing lab I trusted. The duplicates went back on the wall for another birthday. To be honest, the images have far more sentimental value than original photographic skill, but apparently time travel is possible.

This isn’t a personal recommendation, as I haven’t used it, but I have seen nice images online scanned with https://www.pixl-latr.com/ and positive comments from their users. They seem to be serious about facilitating the use of a digital camera instead of a scanner and there are lots of tips on their blog and Facebook page (I didn’t try it as I already had an Epson V600 and didn’t have a quality digital camera available at the time). More of a faff and their holders aren’t exactly cheap, but it is an option…

"Correctly" is the operative word, here.

Darktable has the "Negadoctor" module, RawTherapee has the "Film Negative" module. They work to some extent. For Lightroom, there's a commercial product called "Negative Lab Pro" which, IMHO, is fantastic and does the job properly. It's extremely popular for that reason.
Mike - Just for reference, if you ever do decide to try darktable again for colour film post-processing, note that you need to disable the White Balance module before enabling Negadoctor. Otherwise they will be competing and you will not get a clean conversion.

Most have old, small, 5MP sensors that would have been used in low-end P&S cameras from about ten or more years ago. Many of them "upscale" the images to make up for the resolution shortfalls from these crappy sensors and most will provide only over-sharpened jpegs, no RAW.

Don't bother.
