ZX-M focusing screen in ZX-5n

I just got a ZX-5n and think it's great. But I want a split-image screen to use with my manual focus lenses. A few places online say that the ZX-M screen fits perfectly and works fine with autofocus and center-weighted and full metering, but the links that show you how to do this are all 404-errored. Anyone know how to do it? It's not supposed to be user-replaceable, but apparently it's not hard at all.

i would imagine that it's not much harder than changing the one in a K100D which is also not meant to be changed.

katz eye has a guide for the k100d
Focusing Screen Installation Guides - Katz Eye Optics

there are quite a few threads on focus screens here, i think if you search jinfinance you may find it and some tips on installation

Thanks--at the moment though the real problem seems to be finding one of these screens. Pentax no longer sells them--indeed, they couldn't even tell me the part number. I'll keep an eye out for a parts ZX-M.

Actually, that's dead on, but with the ZX-M it is very hard to see the latch. A small dental pick that has been slightly modified to create a small hook works best when negotiating this.

Please post your results if you try it. I would love a split screen on my ZX-5n.

I swapped my ZX-M screen to my PZ-1. It fits perfectly. (PZ-1p is NOT the same screen and it will not fit).

The ZX-M to ZX-5n should also work fine.
