Yeah, I got real busy the last three weeks, too. Friday I'm driving my son to college in Springfield. Saturday I'm flying to Richmond, Va. to take my daughter to college and back late Sunday.

Monday I start a second job to pay for it.

Time to move the camera either to User440 or next on the list

I believe you are next, Sasquatch.

We need to decide what to do with the camera - who gets it next?

Now that I have finished with the Sightseer and I am offering the St. Louis Group (although it is smaller than I would like) a last-chance to use it, why don't we make the arrangements now for me to ship it on to you?

I expect they will have their outing in a week, then they or I will ship to you.

Please PM with your shipping instructions. I will ship the Sightseer in a USPS Priority Mail package, insured.

Thanks,

Paul Compton

MJB Digital from St. Louis - new to the thread as of last week - has asked for the camera. Would you all mind if I short-stopped it to him? I haven't heard a word from sasquatch by PM or thread post, or I can't send it there anyway.

If we don't hear from sasquatch, then next up would be

lawsonstone

Go ahead and pass it off to MJB on the interim from Sasquatch. I just want to encourage MJB to keep the time down as much as possible and still be successful. In the mean time, if Sasquatch steps up, we will forward it to him next if not, sein06231 is next.

Up NEXT MJB Digital

I'll ship to MJB Digital as soon as I get his address here - I heard from Sasquatch today - he's been moving apartments.

For review of camera condition

Man, I am awful with film. I guess I need some time with my daughter - TMAX is really tough.

I think the camera back is bowed or the pressure plate is misaligned somehow. Rather than sending to Eric I sent the camera off the MJB Digital since he is 10 miles away. If he has the same experience we will get the camera up to Eric for a look.

The following image and 100% crop shows two steam locomotive valves taken head-on in the same plane. I don't claim perfection, but this has to be wrong. From notes - Tamron #01A SP 35~80mm f/2.8-3.8 f/11 1/60 ISO 100 with ES Mount. I used a hand-held Sekonic MicroLeader meter that matches my KX VF meter quite well (but everything was still overexposed).

Although virtually every image I took was overexposed, most of them show softness on left of image. I'll post a set to Flickr of the ones I could repair at least somewhat.

TMAX is very tough

Something is definitely wrong. I did not have such strong leftsidedness (sinister bent?), but had definite reason to believe that the film was buckling or some such. What is interesting about your image is that the metal cylinder above the OOF gauge appears to be in the same focus plane and is sharp. Strangely enough, some my pictures came out very, very sharp across the frame. Go figure.

Steve

Steve
There wasn't much more than 3" depth between the front edge of the expansion tank and the faceplate of the Worthington Feedwater Heater gauge. Many of my images were sharp, but the ones that are noticeably off were not universally soft. Even at f/4 the area in question should all be sharp, although the background would be OOF.

My bet is the back has gotten warped somehow.

Otherwise it was a blast to use but I can't imagine how had it must have been to meter externally and transfer an exposure estimate to the settings aperture ring and shutter speed. I have a new appreciation for match-needle metering.

And a new understanding of how good my daughter is!

I think it is time for a formal film photography class.
