Nesster, this was a great shot. Thanks for tiding us over while the Sightseer was in transit. Gotta love that Ultramax 400...actually, I do have to love it, 'cause I have ten rolls kicking around due to a nice sale CVS had on it .

Fabuluous shooting! I'm envious, as your 135mm shots are so sharp and concentrated, I don't seem to get along at all with that focal length... Interesting comparison too with the two 28's

ps. the Gypsy Farmhouse - we've bought a ton of stuff from her, she's got some really nice 'junk' antiques.

P. S. Are all these Fuji 160? You did great logging your exposures, but you only mentioned the film in one. Inquiring minds want to know...
The Gypsy farm house, NYC 42st & 7th Ave Time Square, NY sky line lens comparison and the NYC court house is Fuji160S everything else is Kodak gold 200.

Film all developed and scan by Costco at Little Falls, NJ. I bought a used epson V700 and in the process of changing OS to Window XP for CS4 & silver fast AI. It will be great to re-scan in the near future and see what differences I might get.

Sein, thanks for ID'ing the film and also for the dope on the scanning. I've been looking at the V700 to replace my HP flatbed (which will only scan two frames at a time). Not really ready to commit the financial resources to it yet, but it's certainly on the "to do" list.

Again, nice shooting with the SV and I'll second Nesster's comment on the 135mm lens; not my favourite focal length to shoot - FOV is just too narrow for me, but it's really working for you in a big way. Only success I've had with mine is on digital (where the crop puts it closer to 200mm) and I've used it to shoot live theatre productions and it's been almost ideal for that. Your shots are inspiring me to give it another go out in the big bad world.

Best,
Kevin

Those flowering trees in the street shot are surreal - makes me think it's infrared film

Nesster, the rail shot of yours is something that I really like to learn. Care to enlighten me with some shoting detail in addition to ultramax 400. Time of the day, lens, aperture & shutter would help. It is such a great shot.

Thanks - it was at sunset, the sun was just behind the buildings on the left. I'd set exposure for the buildings... which at this remove I can't recall - probably 2 or 4 stops down from sunny 16.

Nice work, both Sein and Nesster.

I have to say, that I really seem to like what some here do with that Ultramax 400 in particular, which is funny, since it's sort of marketed as the opposite of what I like in a color film.

It's a little hard to tell from the Web, but it seems you got some nice subtlety out of it, too, Nesster. It may be the next film I try, ..Possibly when Sightseer comes around again, I'll take the occasion to loosen up and just send it all to a lab.

Especially if I haven't yet found satisfactory lighting for my little duplicating setup, here, (At least there's plenty of sunlight, this part of the year) and haven't replaced the busted scanner. Or am still feeling so behind on everything.
