Hey, Portland Pete - really looking forward to your Sightseer pics. Here's a link to the "sticky" on how to post off-site images: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-your-photos/6-how-posting-uploading-...de-images.html.

Edit: Signed into Flickr and found you listed as a member of the Sightseer group (and I got to see your pics <g>), but your photos aren't appearing in the group pool; only on your personal photo stream. Not sure how to rectify that off the top of my squash. I'm not a big flickr fan as the interface (to my thinking) is really kludgy. I have some images hosted there, but when I ran out of free space, I gave up on it. I'm certainly not happy enough with flickr to pay them for the privilege.

All that being said, really nice job with the Sightseer; nice to see some night shots for a change. I hope you can link your photos here so we can see them without having to navigate through all the nonsense at flickr.

Best,
Kevin

Hello, all. I have some shots on the Flickr group now. If someone can let me know how to link them here, that would be great, as I am about out of attachment space! They are all Fuji Pro 400H, the night shots metered with my K10D and the day shots are Sunny 16. I also have a roll of Plus-X 125 at the shop for scanning. These are Walgreens, with only rotate/crop for a little dutch. Thanks.
Pete,
You can link them direct from your Flickr account to here. The process is a little involved, but easy once you get the hang of it. The main issue is that Flickr requires that the photo link back to them. Here is how it works...
  1. Navigate to a page on your Flickr photostream
  2. Click the "Share This" button
  3. Click "Grab the HTML"
  4. Choose the size you want from the drop-down list
  5. Copy the HTML code to the clipboard (click on code text to highlight, Ctrl-c to copy)
  6. Open a second browser tab or window and navigate to OILU - Openforum Image Link Utility
  7. Paste (Ctrl-v) the code from the clipboard into the text box and click the "process button"
  8. Start a new message on this thread and copy the converted code from the OILU page into the message box
  9. Add whatever comments and description suits you (I usually copy the text from my Flickr description)
It looks more involved than it really is, but is way better than attaching files since there is no limit.

Blue has to approve of all posts before they will appear as part of the Flickr group.

Steve

P.S. I also found your photostream...GREAT SHOTS!

Steve, thanks for taking the time to give a way better explanation than I did on how to post here from flickr and revealing the approval protocol on the Sightseer pool.

Best,
Kevin

Steve and KJon - Thanks for your help with the attachments!

Ok, so as I said before, Fuji Pro 400H, night shots metered with the K10D and day by Sunny 16. Walgreen's process and scan, minimal post-processing.

Portland Pete, I'll second Nesster's comment - great work with the sightseer and thanks for taking the time to get them posted here. Your shots have me inspired to do some night photography. I've done some on digital, but I don't think I've done any with film yet.

Best,
Kevin

Portland Pete Pictures People-less Portland!!!

I know most of those locations well and it is so strange to see them empty of people in the dead of night. In fact, the pumphouse photo above was taken from almost exactly the same position as one of my Saturday Market shot (below) with the Sightseer...just facing the other direction!

Here is your shot (from your photostream) of the same pillars...

Thank you all for the kind words. You get a different perspective on things working nights. Here are a few more, including some proof that I do get out in the sun!

Drunken Doll

I found this behind one of the local schools.

Bell Tower

Near the Chapel at the University of Portland

Convention Center

Morning Twilight....trust me, it was not really this bright out!

Sunday Parkways

A few times a summer, the City closes down some streets in the neighborhoods (it rotates) and bikes rule the day. That is my lovely wife in the foreground.

The Log Ride

We went to a local amusement park called the Enchanted Forest for my neice's birthday.

Roller Coaster

For the life of me, I can't remember what this one is called.

Crooked House

In the Fairy Tale Village section. There once was a crooked man, who lived in a crooked house. This is actually pretty fun to try and navigate!

Here are some B&W shots. Everything is with the 55/1.8, Pentax Yellow-Green filter, Pan-X 125, Sunny 16. I developed this myself with Ilfosol 3 at 1+9 for 5 min. Scanning by Blue Moon, minimal post processing.

Some more from around town, same data as above.

Columbia Pool

At Columbia Park in North Portland. I used to work here in college.

Swan Island

A view toward Downtown from Willamette Boulevard over the Swan Island industrial area.

St John's Bridge

Another view from Cathedral Park

I will be sending the Sightseer on to the next participant now, but have 2 more rolls in for processing.

Pete
IS050 had been added to the list verbally a ways back and I put him behind you because of him being in the same area as Steve and you. I just didn't write it in. Tell PGillin that that one is on me.
