Come to think of it, I think that 55 is one of the screwmount lenses that piqued my interest to try as a short-portrait on my K20. Though it might have been a 1.4 I saw some results from and liked. (no adapter as yet, anyway: I'm putting that off as long as I can stand to, though, thought I was *modernizing,* here. Haha. )

So I believe we have:

Stevopedia
felix68
Ratmagiclady
séamuis
blue

I'll put together a nice package including a copy of the manual... perhaps a reprint, perhaps an original... a nice little note with some reminders and we're off. Each person will get the next person's address.

Thanks. I'll post when it's out the door I have Steopedia's address.

Put me down on the way back...

I'd like to try it on its trip back to the east, and towards the spring time. Not much out here during winter :/

Is anyone going to make a flickr group for it, or something similar? That would be pretty interesting

Added to the list. I will start placing the list in each of my posts after the text as it is updated. I take it that you might want me to keep you at the bottom of the list for a while... that's fine. I'll shoot for spring.

The flickr group is an interesting idea. I kind of like that. Start with some pictures of the camera and then follow up with pictures from the various stops... I'll think about this some more...

The list is:

OK Steve and everyone the SV will go out to Steve tomorrow. Tracking number will be USPS:

0307 3330 0001 3109 3901

Usually this takes the better part of the day to get into the system, but you should see this camera on Friday at the latest. Inventory of items in the box:

Pentax Asahi SV
Super Takumar 55mm f/1.8
Leather half-case
Soligar 49mm UV Filter
Original (Honeywell) Lens Cap
Original SV Manual
Vintage Sekonic light meter... reflected light only (sorry)
Reprinted manual for Sekonic Meter

As noted by Mike Cash, please no-one try to use a Super Takumar or later 50mm f/1.4 with this camera. It is an early SV and the mirror box is not deep enough for this lens. Other than that, keep it for two weeks, and send it along to the next person in the list. I'd appreciate your using delivery confirmation ata minimum just so we can tell where it is at any given time.

I'll check in with each of you as the time comes. Thanks!

Btw, if anyone else would like to go sooner, I can trade my place in line, ..I'm still getting used to a few new things, so I'm in no hurry for novelty.

you are looking at about 4 weeks out based on the 2 weeks per person.

Looking Forward to Shooting!

Great, looking forward to shooting with the SV! I have always wanted to shoot with the 55mm 1.8 too.

Stevopedia - Please PM me when you are ready to send the package and I will give you the shipping info.

Are we posting scans in this thread, or in a flickr group? Let us know.

This is the coolest thread ever, thanks woof!

Sweet! Thanks, woof!

I think I've got just the thing to bring the camera to...

And felix68, I'll let you know as soon as I'm ready to ship.

Felix... thanks... ;-)

I'll take suggestions on a Flikr group... I started one. For now it is via invite only, though others can request membership. Frankly I am going to be a little uncomfortable with folks that are out of the blue (sorry Blue... not you), but let's go with it and see what develops. We could do some interesting things.

I think we should post here initially, but I'll take guidance on that. I'll be happy to upload and admin content over there too if you guys agree to allow it to be posted over there. Open for discussion.

If you guys want to join the group go to the following URL and click on the join links...

http://www.flickr.com/groups/sightseeingscrewmount/

You'll need a yahoo account to join Flickr. If you want to remain a bit anonymous, create a yahoo account for yourself with little or no real content. Frankly, I highly recommend this. If it can be the same handle as your Pentax Forums handle, that might make it a little easier.
