Autofocus lenses on an ME Super

OK I'm new at this, so...
I have a K200D with a number of lenses (ain't Xmas wonderful), I also have an old ME Super which I'm considering getting serviced - what I am wondering is whilst I know that my old ME lenses will wok fine with the K200D is it ok to use the K200D AF lenses on the ME Super (i.e. are they backwardly compatible)??

As long as the lenses have an aperature ring, you'll be able to use them fully on your ME Super. Otherwise, you'll only be able to use the lenses (DA, Newer Sigmas, Tamrons etc...) at their widest aperature only.

Actually, the DA/FAJ and other no-aperture-ring lenses expose at their narrowest aperture only on an ME Super. Not terribly useful.

However, the other autofocus lenses (F, FA) work just fine. Lenses with longer focus throws (e.g. FA limiteds) are easier to use than lenses with shorter focus throws (e.g. most consumer zooms).

The Sigma 105mm AF macro works great in the manual focus mode and works well with my SuperProgram. It is really going to depend a lot on the lens. In otherwords, things like whether or not it is full frame, how the aperture ring works, how difficult is it to manual focus etc.

Whoops. Thanks for the clarification troyz. It doesn't help that I don't actually own any aperature-ring-less lenses... Oh well, I had a 50/50 chance of getting it right!
