Damn .... that's a really nice pickup ... the 300mm Tak and the 35mm are very nice lenses indeed.

I need to get to the bottom plate on my "freebie Spotmatic" as the battery cover is jammed on as well.

The original battery (PX-400 1.35v) contained mercury and is no longer available. Currently available silver cells (Energizer E387S is one compatible model) should work even though they are a slightly higher voltage (1.55v). The Spotmatic has a compensating bridge circuit so the higher voltage is not an issue.

Thanks steve. I went to my nearest camera shot today (a little over an hours drive), and there they had batteries produced by Wein to replace the original Mercury ones. 1.35V and everything. Meter needle is alive with the new batt, but I haven't checked to see if it's telling me reasonable exposures yet.

Josh, that shot of the aperture blades gave me goose bumps. Really wonderful. Again, good find.
