I have a Program Plus and it seems to work fine with a Nikon SB-28 flash. TTL doesn't work as far as I know but regular auto mode works fine and gives great results. I just bought a ME Super, and it doesn't seem to trigger the flash. Am I doing something wrong or is the ME Super broken? It's in pretty bad shape, and the auto-timer doesn't work, so it wouldn't surprise me.

It should work with that flash, as with any other
It is possible that the hot shoe is not working, test it with a noisemaking-ohm meter sinche the circuit is closed only for a short time.

Some of the cameras I have, especially the ones that I got which seem to have been poorly stored for a long period of time, have non-functioning flash shoes. Apparently the flash sync at the shoe is relatively fragile.

It's worth noting that the flash worked at the PC socket for all the bodies where the shoe flash didn't.

There was a lot of oxidation on the contacts in the hot shoe. I was able to scrape them clean and now the camera fires my Nikon flash just fine. I wish I could find an automatic flash that was much smaller and lighter than this giant Nikon, though. I'm pretty sure it weighs more than the camera.
