Other than Instamatics and Canon P&S 80's film cameras (dependable and efficient for what they did), these are the film cameras I own or have owned. They all have good qualities and on any given day any of them could be my favorite.

Favorite:
  1. KX - just fits my hands well. everything is where it should be. Sublime with a K lens.

2nd Group:
  1. Spotmatic F - a screwmount KX, and oh, those SMCT lenses!
  2. MESuper
  3. Olympus XA - others on this thread have already said everything
  4. K2
Honorable Mention:
  • Olympus OM1 (gave to my brother)
  • Spotmatic SPII
  • Spotmatic
  • MX
  • ME

My favorite film camera from a collector's view is my great-aunt's Kodak Jr. The last patent date on the lens is 1913 which seems about right since the earliest prints I have that she made were of her and friends in college in 1918.

I also have my dad's Kodak 35mm Pony which he bought in the PX while stationed in Alaska Territory in 1958. To think that he shot Kodachrome 25 using the Sunny-11 rule and most of his slides are simply beautiful is amazing. Who needs a meter?

I still like the little Olympus Stylus Epic fixed 35/2.8 point-and-shooter I bought maybe eight years ago. I'm tempted to run a role of Velvia through it just to see what I could do.

The film camera I find most tempting today is the Pentax 645. I doubt they'll ever get much cheaper.

Oooh, I'd love an F4... or an F3HP... or an OM-1... or...

....

...Okay, I admit, I have a bad case of CBA. Even worse since it spans multiple mounts...

My Dad had a Spotmatic and a SF10, both were great. I've also had a Nikon F80 for a short time. The only other SLR film camera I have is the recently purchased is the Super Program. The feel/handling is great and I'll have to wait a bit for the first roll to be developed as it's B&W. (They send it out to a proper lab).

That way lies madness. I'm in enough trouble as it is.
