IME, superia 800 has considerably less latitude than 400.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking about it as well.

I have a roll of Superia 800 in my freezer. Been in there for a while and I forget where it came from. I keep putting off using it because I'm thinking it's grain is gonna be terrible. But go26r's images are encouraging. So what's its grain like, up close? Is it a pretty low-rez film or does it do a decent job?

I'd be tempted to say that Portra 800 is better, but it's not too bad.

I was shooting most of the shots of people on the move, so my focus isn't always perfect. This one I had time to double-check focus, so click and zoom in if you want a better idea.

Spotmatic II.
Tamron Adaptall-2 80-210mm f3.8-4.
Fuji Superia Venus 800.

You are having altogether too much fun with your OM and with excellent results too. I always wanted one, but never managed to reconcile my large hands and long fingers with the controls.

Nice work with the Helios 44M. I have mounted mine up on my M42 bodies, but have yet to reconcile myself to the weight. One of these days, I am just going to have to muscle up and take it out for a couple of rolls.

I've mainly been shooting either medium format or my Contax with an 85/2 lens lately. Compared to those combos, the Helios is nothing.

The first and second were shot with my Jupiter-21M 200 (A Behemot!) set at f/22 and the last was shot with my Helios 44-2 set at f/16. Shutter set at 1/500 for all 3 pictures.
