I've finally worked my way through a bulk roll (100') of Kentmere 400... I've got one more roll to develop, and two more to edit/upload.

Here's one of the better shots from April 2017, taken with K1000 and K55/1.8.

I'm thinking of picking up a 100' of Kodak Vision3 250D from the FPP. Has anyone here tried this film? I really like the results I'm seeing online so far, but I haven't actually tried it myself. I really like "rolling my own," but am kind of tired of B/W film, especially when I can just convert some color film to B/W in post, or develop it as B/W anytime I feel like it.

A local property owner has a patch of flowers specifically for photography use. Signs are posted to not pick the flowers. Last hour of light, this place gets pretty crowded. Shot an entire roll with a recently acquired K35/3.5 to check out the focal length. Likely going to become my walk-around focal length over the 50 or 55.

A 35 is very versatile.

Playing with formats... I've posted the Leica shot before, but I found it interesting to have the two together.

Interestingly (to me), the Elmar is from 1952 and the Autocord/Rokkor from 1958, so similar period.

Both shot on Portra400

Minolta Autocord + 75mm f3.5 Chiyoko Rokkor

Leica III + Leitz 5cm f3.5 Elmar

Great shots! The Minolta has a deservedly loyal following, but many folks still don't realize just how good of a lens the old 3.5 Elmar is. Your shots show that it can hang well with medium format.

I really enjoyed the Elmar for the brief time I had it (only one roll) - I reckon I'll pick up another with an M adapter before long.

There's some fantastic slower glass in Leica Land...

I prefer the composition of the shot with the Elmar. I think that helps a lot. It'd be interesting to throw both of them on the tripod back to back to compare exact shots and framing, at least what the lenses and format allow for similarities.

I like the autocord version better (better framing, contrast and accutance). Whatever qualities the Elmar is supposed to have aren't really evident at web scale, at least not in the particular shot viewed side-by-side with MF. Is it stopped down at all?

The Canadiana is a diner I ate in during a sojourn through Mimico in early September.
