Wow! Glamour shot! I don't believe I have seen photos with the K 85/2.2 Soft before. That is very nice.

Thanks for reviving a few memories. I spent a few days up Icicle Creek a few years ago and spent a fair amount of time watching the climbers that frequent the area.

Thanks Steve, yes I was very pleased with this one. We all get lucky sometimes !!

Yes the K 85mm 2.2 is an interesting lens. The aperture stops down/up as you turn the ring, so you can use it in Av mode. Stopped down it appears through the viewfinder as a normal lens but as you open it up you can see the soft effect come into play, and it is very pronounced. The aperture ring has no click stops and is positioned at the front, where you would normally expect the focus ring to be. But i guess that is the whole point of this lens, image softness is paramount so the softness controller is right where it should be

i must give it an outing on the K1.

Thanks Steve. No, they are fairly recent. Been shooting mostly film these days. There is something natural and beautiful with the experience.

It sounds like an interesting lens for cine video.

First roll back from the AF-C. A lot of shaky shots, possibly because I was pushing a bit too hard on shutter release and not holding it with two hands.

Otherwise: focus & meter seem good; lens is acceptable though vignettes noticeably.
