Last roll on the KM

I pulled the trigger on an LX a few days ago, waiting for it to make its way to me from Japan. I hear varying things about how high maintenance the LX can be, but what is life without risks?

This last roll from the KM turned out really weird. I think I took too long finishing the roll and the film degraded a bit, because a lot of the exposures came out really muddy, not like Portra at all. Still, some interesting results, and I was surprised by how much I liked the "ugly" shots. I had to crop around light leaks and I didn't get nearly 36 shots due to the KM's winding issues (hence why I'm moving on). Still, not a bad farewell at all.

In my opinion, the time to enjoy an LX is "as soon as possible". They are utterly sublime. But like similar things of the world that nice, they won't be with us as long. Parts for CLA are already a challenge for Eric and the few others that service them. Early PCB electronics are the Achilles heel of them... it's a bit sad, but it is what it is.
Easily my favorite 35mm shooter.

I like that tree!

I bought a "late model", so maybe the electronics will be slightly less likely to go belly up as soon as I get it. I paid a little more for a near-mint one, too. I did that with my 6x7 and it was a good choice.

I know we are a bit late for Christmas shots, but it took me a while to finish the roll of Kodak Gold 200 in my Topcon 35L.

I used my "Jiffy Calculator" for this night shot, about 4 seconds according to my notes.

More Kodak Gold 200 & Topcon 35-L.

I was looking for photography books at the public library.

And here's my friend Alex, to whom I was giving a lift (Like almost every friday).

Hi Colton,

have you ever thought of or tried publishing photo books? Your work is really outstanding, IMHO, and I just wonder if there isnt a publisher aroung who could be interested...

Cheers,
Andreas

Thanks Andreas.
I have looked into the idea a bit... so far I haven't really come up with anything solid.
