thnx, jgredline. this was my first concert shooting with Tak, and it proved a little bit more difficult than with M lens that I preffered to use, but due to the stiff focusing (some time ago camera landed on the floor full faced with lens), it had to sit this one out.

I posted this one on the monochrome landscape thread, but here on the film forum is its true home.

Tamron 28/2.5 02B, Panatomic X

Scanned yesterday...shot in summer of 1984...

Steve

(Took forever to spot...really need a wet mount setup or a light diffuser for doing B&W on the scanner...)

Steve, that is just as beautiful here as there... and reminds me: I lost all my 70's b&w films when I left my binder in the college darkroom... and by the following semester they'd demolished the set up. The one thing I have left is the 35mm Schneider enlarger lens.

Hi. New guy here.

I took these with my Spotmatic IIa, 20mm SMC Takumar, Kodachrome, exposure unrecorded, Nikon CoolScan V. The temperature was below 0F. Chicago lakefront.

Thanks for the kind comment. I have an 11x14 print of the same negative done on Kodak Elite paper with selenium toning. Sadly, the digital version does not do the negative justice by comparison. The silver print on premium paper blows my best scan attempts completely away. Even at 4000 dpi, the Coolscan 5000 ED is no match for a good optical enlargement.

Those Chicago photos are amazing! gabriel_bc, what a great photo of your sweet little girl.

I'm new here too. Bought a Spotmatic recently to go with some Takumar lenses I picked up at a yard sale ages ago (and have been using with my Olympus digital from time to time). It's nice to shoot film again and I love the results.

Here are a couple of my favorites from the tri-x 400 roll that I just got back from Dwayne's. (No local place here to get them developed, sadly.) Taken with the SMC Takumar 3.5 35mm & the Spotmatic II. Both of my daughter.

Nice photos. Tri-x 400 is so smoothly grained now compared to the older 400. For portraits, it's nice. But I sometimes wish for the older coarse 400, too. Anybody recommend a good coarse-grained b/w?

I'm just now getting the chance to look through this entire thread, and I am truly impressed with the quality of the images. There are some very talented people here.

At some point, I may post a few more in this thread since film is all I've ever shot, with the exception of about 50 images (total) with my K100D.
