I was looking through some of my old uploaded trannies this morning when this thread popped up again, so why not? This was with the Z-1 and Fujichrome Provia 100 - and probably the FA28-105 1:4-5.6 - Hout Bay, South Africa

Terrific photo. And looking at your other shots on flickr I fond my self spending quite some time looking through a bunch of really amazing shots. Well done.

How does one hold on to one of those? They aren't exactly ergonomic.

I know, Cadillacs have terrible ergonomics...

Assuming you meant the camera...The handling is not as bad as one might think nor is the camera particularly heavy or clumsy in use. Of course, a picture is worth a thousand words and this photo of a not-so-young-but-definitely-spry Laura Gilpin with her Medalist should give an indication of size and handiness and one way to hold one. Note the lack of strap.

Yes, they are actually much easier to hold than they appear.

I recently picked up a SMC Pentax-A 645 35/3.5. This is one of the test shots I did with it.

Picked up a Canon F-1 to replace my broken FTb. Meter looks to be a bit finicky on it, but otherwise good. This is from the test roll.

Canon F-1.
Takumar 135mm f3.5 on extension tubes.
(Both #2 and #3, I believe.)
Fuji C200.

Which F-1?

I recently picked up an A-1 for cheap (although I need to take care of some squeal), and I see it as a nice combination of the AE-1, AV-1, and the A-series manual cameras.

From my first roll on the camera:

  • Canon A-1
  • Canon FD 55/1.2
  • Kodak ColorPlus 200
