Vaguely... I think some scenes were filmed on Projection Bluff, which is about 20km away.

A companion to my last post in the B&W thread. I'm surprised that I'm not in frame, as I tripped this one with a cable release while standing to the left of the camera in order to prevent the sun from falling directly on the lens.

Nice work with the Horizon, Andrew.
How are you liking the camera?
BTW, I moderate the Widelust group on Flickr dedicated to panoramic format film cameras, and I invited you to add your photo to the group.

Well, I'm discovering just how terrible I am at estimating distances.

Mostly I haven't used it enough to get a feel for it. This entire roll was taken on a tripod over the space of about an hour, and are just variations of the same shot from different angles. I'm hoping once summer finally comes there will be long enough periods of sun that I can get a better handle on it and not just take landscapes.

Estimating distances for composition?

Swing lens cameras are surprisingly good indoors and are easy to handhold at very slow (1/8s) speeds.

This was from my 2nd roll I shot in my Horizon 202. IIRC it was 1/4s

Mostly for estimating what is and isn't in focus for a given aperture. Though I also need to photocopy the depth of field table from the manual and tape it to the back so that I don't have to keep going digging for it.

Thanks goddo!

Here's another one, more of a shot of the beach this time. I'm not sure I like it quite as much as the views, but I think the composition works quite well in the square format (?).

Yeah I'm also considering getting a Z-1P for the 1/8000 shutter speed.

Too many times I've not been able to shoot wide open with faster lenses, unless I was using a ND filter or very slow film or both. Then you run into the issue of the ND filter light loss and making it harder to focus.

Phil.
