I've seen much smoother Delta 100. Your exposure affects the grain. If the scanner has to amp up the image to bring it in a contrast range, you will see more grain.

I was surprised to see the level of grain in Delta 100, to be honest the 400 looks smoother.
As Tuco says, I've seen much smoother Delta100. This looks like a bad exposure rather than inherently grainy film.

The development and scan was made by Ilfordlab and I assume they know how to develop their own film.

All the shots from this roll are more or less grainy, this is another example.

Yes Delta 100 is made by Ilford. Do you think they would make a film more coarse grain than their 400 version of the same type of film and call it 100 ISO? I don't think so.

Pentax ME Super in 1993, lens, film and development unknown. Scanned from 4x6 print. Poor devil was surrounded by antiques, books and muzzleloaders. Not that there's anything wrong with any of that.

These are the results, what I think or you think is not that relevant.

On a scale of 1 to 10 (best), how do you rate your posted scans as compared to most everyone here using the same format in terms of tonal scale ( good shadow and highlight detail), DR and sharp scans?

I have come to grips (pun intended) with the strange shape of my two Exaktas and have also acquired a small stash of NOS focus screens to replace the time-damaged screens that came with the cameras. I have large hands with long fingers and am also fairly ambidextrous. With practice, the left-sided wind and release come fairly naturally. Since the shutter speed adjust is most appropriately done with the camera at waist level, that problem takes care of itself with the remaining ergonomic issue simply being the shape of the camera. Who in their right mind would design a body to slip easily from the hand?

It was only after using the waist-level finder that the body shape fell naturally to hand. It is a pity that an accessory grip was not offered to a salve the pain.
The wind doesn't bother me in the slightest, to be honest. (It probably helps that I have a VX1000, which uses a short stroke wind.) I just haven't been able to train myself to focus with the right hand instead of the left. The end result is that I tend wind up reaching just a bit too much for the shutter release.

That said, though I trash talk Ihagee a bit, I do actually love these cameras. Part of the charm even is these design quirks.

Again, I rate it poorly and I am saying I am not going to use this film anymore, or I will try to find a lab (not Ilfordlab) who can make a better work.

This is an example of good shot for me and it comes from another thread:

Again, this film was developed and scanned by Ilforlab, which is the same people that makes the film. If you guys are telling me the problem is my camera, exposure or generally speaking me being a bad photographer feel free to do that, with any other film I tried with the same camera I didn't get these results.

No. Did you you contact the lab and let them know the results are unacceptably grainy, and what do they they think is the cause, whether it's improper exposure, bad development, and/or scanning?
