There's still a good amount of detail in those images and the color is still very striking. They would be roughly equivalent in size to 16mm/110 film, right?
I "borrowed" these images from Wikipedia, it shows the image size the best.
What I've read is a roll of 135 36 exposure film holds 69 pair of View-Master images. The camera uses the bottom of the film first and when you get to the end of the film, you move a lever to move up the lenses. Then you shoot the top part of the film back towards the start until it goes back into the canister. Each View-Master reel holds 7 pair of stereo images, so 10 reels per roll of 36. You would get the Kodachrome slide film processed un-cut and then send it to "Sawyer's" to cut the film and mount it in the reels. The Sawyer's company made the cameras and reels and were based in Portland, Oregon.
