Cool shots. This looks oddly familiar w a parking lot for mass-transit near me (the fact that it is empty when it used to be Max capacity).

It is busier now but the town centre was spookily empty back in April. I half expected to see tumbleweed rolling down the high street.

These are scans from some "View-Master Personal" reels that I have from my mom's box of old pictures. I doubt my parents had the View-Master Stereo camera to take the pictures, so they must have had someone else take them or borrowed the camera. As I only have the number of View-Master reels that would equate to one roll of 35mm 36 exposures slide film. The film would have been whatever version of Kodachrome that was available in 1952. The actual size of a View-Master image is about 1/4 of a regular 35mm slide, so the fact that you can see the month/year on the calendar of a slide that is close to 68 years old is pretty good.

Very cool. Thanks for sharing these.

There's still a good amount of detail in those images and the color is still very striking. They would be roughly equivalent in size to 16mm/110 film, right?

That's a very nice image but it looks like you've got some scratches there.

Yeah, unfortunately the iSRD in Silverfast is acting up and reinstalling didn’t solve the issue. I’ve put in a service request.

I "borrowed" these images from Wikipedia, it shows the image size the best.

What I've read is a roll of 135 36 exposure film holds 69 pair of View-Master images. The camera uses the bottom of the film first and when you get to the end of the film, you move a lever to move up the lenses. Then you shoot the top part of the film back towards the start until it goes back into the canister. Each View-Master reel holds 7 pair of stereo images, so 10 reels per roll of 36. You would get the Kodachrome slide film processed un-cut and then send it to "Sawyer's" to cut the film and mount it in the reels. The Sawyer's company made the cameras and reels and were based in Portland, Oregon.

That looks about on par with my experiences with expired Centuria; it colour shifts pretty rapidly.

Yes it looks like the same Sawyer's rebadged a Japanese camera and sold it under their name presumably in the US.

I shot 2 rolls of expired Centuria, about same dates of expiration... Yep, both are almost identical in the color shift and yellowing. It is nice for summer/autum shooting. Do not know how it would be for winter shots
