Just got a roll of XP2 back today - apparently I get better processing results for $8 at the drug store around the corner than I do at the pro shop that sells the stuff (the last roll I had developed came back with horrible scans and were cut through the middle of the best shot on the roll).

Hmm, why? It is a private label film, sold through a drug store chain. I confess though: I did goose the blacks a bit.

Here's another shot from the same roll, Lensbaby on the camera this time:

Fired up my old Visioneer scanner today, and scanned a few prints. They don't look GREAT, but I did what i could in PSE 3. There were all shot with my Ricoh KR-5 and a 55mm f2.2 Riconar lens. Probably at least 15 year old prints, maybe a little older.

That from my first roll of film. I have been shooting digital for a couple of years before I got the bug.

Kodax TriX 400 - MZ-5n

Even with some exposure compensation or some care to meter for the shadow some of the photos were underexposed.

Cheers,

Luc

Personally, I have had very good luck with CVS branded film.. I have been wondering who actually makes it for them. Any ideas anyone?

All with the Vivitar 17-28mm f/4-4.5 and Fuji 400 X-Tra. It's hard to zoom out past 17mm with something this wide. ;-)

K1000, Pentax-A 50mm f2.0, Fujifilm ISO200

After shooting film since the 1960s with many different cameras, just last week I got my first Pentax film SLR - a K1000. It is in excellent condition, and I'm very happy with the results. I used a hot-shoe mounted flash, an old Alfon Computer model GK-235/A with a broken lens and Scotch tape holding the pieces together (maybe this is a feature... a built-in diffuser!?!?).

Here are two pictures from a birthday party for one of my granddaughters this afternoon. Film processed at Wal-Mart (1-hour), no prints, and I had them give me the CD with film scans on it. They came out well.

Good luck indeed. When I went home last year I bought lots of that stuff. Wal-Greens and CVS film. Both are Fujifilm. In fact, Wal-Greens before used Agfa but now they use Fuji.
At 7.49USD for a 4 pack of 24 exposures, I'd buy (and I will now) tons of this stuff.

Oh, so it is Fuji. I thought so. that is what the results looked like. Price wise, it is hard to beat.

Javier, Your shots have made me go out and buy a 3 pack of Kodak Ultra Max 400. I'm going to give it a try. I did shoot Gold 100 in this gallery; Lynn Canyon Park 2009 Photo Gallery by ajuett at pbase.com most didn't turn out due to a fast dying battery which messed up the metering. A new 3V lithium will keep me going for a while now

The UltraMax 400 is pretty good, but I am more impressed with the UltraMax 800
