Good to see some more shots from a FSU camera! I have recently picked up a few cameras and am having fun learning their quirks. The Zorki 4K got back from its CLA a few days ago. The Kiev 4A is in the shop for a CLA and shutter ribbon replacement and the FED-2 is still en route from the Ukraine. From most accounts, people really like their FED-2s and I am really looking forward to using mine once it gets here sometime in the next week or so.

Thanks, Steve!
I like my FED-2 very much, even better than Zorki-4 that I also have on shelf.

cmexonat - nice shots, I particularly like the curvy fence.
Javier - congratulations on getting what looks to be an incredible collection of photos. Have fun exploring them, and I'll look out for the website link

Javier,

You were guided there by no accident. It seems that He picked the right man to continue the job.

Hi Folks.
This morning my wife talked me into going to an estate sale. Boy am I glad I went. The estate sale was for some missionaries that passed away and left a treasure chest of photos and slides from all over the world. Needles to say I will be scanning for a while and creating a web page to show some of these folks work There is some stuff that is brilliant. Pictures from the 30's to the mid 70's from all over the world. I also picked up a journal with articles dating back to the 30's as well. Money I had set a side to buy a new lens went bye, bye....

Will post images as soon as I scan them little by little.

A fellow Pyrocat user! Pyrocat is my favorite developer. I've found that scanning in color and using mostly the blue channel to convert to B&W helps mask the grain. The brown stain blocks blue and ultraviolet light so it fills in the spaces between the darker grains. Not sure if you are doing the scanning or not, but it's worth taking a look at if you haven't already.

Have you tried Pyrocat divided? 5min presoak, 5 min in 1:10A, then 5 min in 1:10B. Works great for roll film. Even frames overexposed 2-3+ stops will look the same as the properly exposed frames. Unfortunately underexposed shots will still look underexposed. Crazy sharp too.

Great color and DOF. I particularly like 1 and 3.

Yesterday I completed my first roll of film

Being 16 and all, I know nothing/am not familiar with film SLR's in any shape or form despite owning a Pentax MX, MX super, Minolta 7000 maxxum, minolta X370, minolta XG7, an argus C3, and finally a Kodak tourist (all but one of which I got for free). Because of this, I stopped by CVS and picked up a ISO 400 roll, called a friend who is also 16 and just got her first film camera (a pretty modern canon rebel) and walked around my culdesac shooting away

Blasphemy I know, but I put the roll in the 7000 maxxum (to test out my new minolta 70-210 F/4 "beercan," minolta 50mm F/1.8, and minolta 28-85mm... all AF).

I basically played around with everything until I got the film and the camera set right, so now I have exposed film and am trying to figure out what comes next Apparently CVS develops film as does some place near by. I look forward to posting my first images when I can in this thread

Nice shots Jason!
I really like the last one. Glad to see you putting that 200/4 to good use.

Nice. The K24/2.8 is a good lens.

Cheers,

Congrats yeatzee! Hope you get some nice results to spur you on to get into film more. I think you will like it. I might suggest some film shots with your M85 f/2, perhaps casual portraits. Or anything with the 50 f/1.2 Watch out for the DoF though, there will be about a stop less than with digital.

Thanks Colton. I am finally getting a little bit accustomed to the M 200 f/4 now. There have been a couple of times lately where it's been quite handy. The shot you like was wide open at f4
