Thanks! I also tried some Rollei 400S under the same circumstances but those came out quite bad. Way too contrasty and not mucht midtones. (In fact I have lost my patience with Rollei 400S, sold the rest of the films that I had.)

There are a few daylight UP400p shots earlier in this thread:
Nice shots!

From my first two rolls of Kodak Ektar 100, Rolleicord Vb

Still prefer the B&W but I would, wouldn't I

Talking of film I have narrowed down what I will be shooting in 35mm once my stock has gone:
I purchased 100ft of Legacy 100 (Across 100) and 100ft of Arista 400 (TriX) plus a loader and cartridge. I have grown fed-up to throw away so much plastic.
Cannot do anything about 120 of course.

The 100 is for tripod use in Rodinal/Studional or Pyrocat and the 400 is to be shot at 1250 in Diafine for all handhold shots.
Keep it simple, keep it working...

Cheers,

Luc

Nice shot with nice tones Jussi!
Womble - I like the harrier. Did you see the upside-down aircraft there too? (I have seen pictures in an aircraft mag, never been there).

Nice shots overall

I'll have to pick up some Foma Nesster you're shots with it really show it off well
I need some 120 film in any case so it may as well be the foma this time out
but first i need to get to the backlog of developing (sitting on 15 or so rolls right now)

Eddie, just so you know - the Foma 120 film is blue and will release blue dye somewhere along the development chain. Not a big deal, just different. The Foma 120 backing paper is the nicest of any - black with white markings.

I had heard that but doesn't a prerinse deal with most of that up front

A lot of people seem to really like the Foma, there is a local dealer so i may just buy a roll or 2 of each for testing purposes then make the big order with freestyle or someone more sanely priced than the Canadian shops are

I don't do a pre rinse - however that may or may not actually release the dye. My experience: using Xtol straight, the dye came out in the stop bath. Using D-76 1:1, the dye comes out in the developer.

Pre-rinse release the dye or almost all of it. The issue is not the dye, is the curling, even with the Encyclopedia Britannica on top I could not remove it Edit: in 120. I got fed-up and stop using Fomapan but as illustrated by Jussi's shot, it is a very nice film along the lineage of APX 100.

Cheers,

Luc

Well today was one of those days. I had decided I was going to shoot film today and so I loaded up my SP2 put on a super tak 55f/2.0, loaded it with Ilford delta 400 and left for Venice. Normally I am pretty happy to have a few good shots, usually 1/2 the roll, but today, Nothing....I think more than anything, it was the lens. It was too long for what I am used to, hence there is nothing personal about this roll. No life.
Having said that, these where the only two I sort of liked.
